About Me

Photo of me

I was born and grew up in the woods of Maine. I came to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to attend Carnegie Mellon University. I graduated with a degree in Psychology, but I also spent time studying Electrical Engineering and Anthropology.

I started recording electronic music in high school with the goal of creating organic sounding music. I recorded a soundtrack for one of my favorite books, City of Saints and Madmen, by Jeff VanderMeer.

I learned shoemaking because I could not find shoes that fit properly. My right foot curves inward, preventing it from fitting in most shoes. Rather than buying custom shoes, I decided to make them myself. I studied under Glen Leasure of Healthy Handmade Shoes, and I found that I enjoyed the process of making shoes. Glen taught me the basics, and after the class, I experimented on my own to learn about different techniques and materials.
